Chris Gentle is a British-born Australian artist whose practice focuses on evocative abstract landscapes. Trained in painting, drawing, sculpture, and lithography, he immigrated to Australia in 1967. His work reflects a deep engagement with the Australian landscape, capturing its beauty, fragility, and the passage of time. Beyond his art practice, Chris contributed as an educator and curator, teaching at the National Art School and the College of Fine Art, and directing the Ivan Dougherty Gallery.

Chris has exhibited widely across Australia, with works held in major collections including the National Gallery of Australia and the National Portrait Gallery.
